A Change in Leadership at CSP

A Change in Leadership at CSP

After nearly a decade at the helm of the organisation she founded, Mie Roesdahl has chosen to step down from her role with CSP to turn her attention to new passions and projects close to her heart.

Mie founded CSP in 2016, bringing over two decades of experience as a peacebuilding and human rights practitioner across Africa, Asia and Europe, including her previous roles as Secretary General of Oxfam IBIS and Department Director at the Danish Institute for Human Rights.

Under her leadership, CSP grew from an idea into an organisation trusted across the peacebuilding field for its commitment to shifting power towards local actors, and for the integrity with which it has approached some of the hardest questions in our sector. Along the way, CSP built a global network of change agents and partners, contributed to shaping international conversations on peacebuilding architecture and civil society’s role within it, and developed a co-leadership model that has supported the organisation through this transition.

On behalf of the team and the Board, we extend our deepest gratitude to Mie for her vision, care and the rigour she brought to this work over the past decade. We thank her for the strong foundation she leaves the organisation to build on and wish her every happiness as she embarks on this next chapter.

Going forward, Sweta Velpillay, who joined CSP in 2020 and most recently served as Co-Director, will lead the organisation.

While leadership has changed, our purpose remains the same. We remain committed to working alongside people, movements and institutions around the world to create more equitable ways of working together for peace.

We look forward to continuing to work alongside all of you in the months and years ahead.

Thank you, as always, for being part of this community.
