The Centre for Resolution of International Conflicts (CRIC)

CRIC at the University of Copenhagen will ensure a sound research component of the project, and will coordinate the process of relevant knowledge development and of bringing relevant research institutions and think tanks into dialogue with policy-makers and practitioners. CRIC is a research center organized as a cooperation between researchers from different disciplines at the University of Copenhagen, Copenhagen Business School, Aarhus University, Aalborg University, the University of Southern Denmark and Danish Institute for Human Rights. CRIC aims to strengthen the prevention and resolution of violent conflicts through developing analytical tools and practical techniques in collaboration with practitioners. Research is targeted specifically at three aspects of conflict: the role of memory in protracted conflicts, third party possibilities for breaking spirals of escalation and the relationship between human rights and peacebuilding. CRIC is led by Professor Ole Wæver.
